Lindsey Mata’afa is a Graduate Fellow currently pursuing her degree in counseling at Concordia University Irvine. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Lindsey has called Greenville home since 2020 and has loved putting down roots and raising her family in the Upstate. She is passionate about people, connection, and creating spaces where others feel welcomed, valued, and genuinely known. In her free time, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her friends and family, working out, baking, and watching sports.

style of therapy

Lindsey takes a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to counseling, believing that each person brings their own unique story, strengths, and capacity for growth. She strives to create a warm, safe, and supportive environment where clients can come as they are, feel heard without judgment, and explore the things that matter most to them.

Her goal is to walk alongside each individual with warmth, positive regard, and curiosity while helping them develop greater self-understanding, find their voice, and feel empowered to move toward meaningful growth and change. Lindsey believes counseling is a collaborative process and that you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.

practice focus

Lindsey enjoys working with individuals who are navigating life’s transitions, challenges, relationships, identity, and the many questions that come with growing and changing. She believes that being invited into someone’s story is both a privilege and a responsibility, and she approaches that opportunity with care, compassion, and genuine curiosity.

Above all, Lindsey hopes clients leave their time together feeling a little more understood, a little more hopeful, and more confident in their ability to move forward.
